Experienced instructor with a real passion for safety & control
As a former Chief Flight Instructor with over 10 years of safety-critical training experience, I bring absolute structure and calm to the passenger seat. I replace the stress of learning to drive with clear, intentional coaching so you can navigate Northland's roads with confidence.
Mastering driving skills
Integrated Hazard Management: Just like in aviation, identifying hazards isn't a separate lesson—it is a core part of normal operations from day one. We treat managing 'acceptable risk' as an inseparable, continuous part of operating a vehicle.
Open Road & Rural Driving: Master the specific demands of 80km/hr plus zones. We focus heavily on forward scanning, safe cornering and transitioning onto and off gravel edges.
Independent Test Prep: As your test approaches, I step back from coaching to become just a silent navigator—giving directions like Google Maps—so you build the independent decision-making skills your testing officer will expect.
Serving the Northland Community
We offer pre-set pickup locations across Whangārei, Kerikeri, Dargaville, and the wider Northland region to ensure a safe, stress-free start to every lesson.

In January 2027, the NZTA is removing the Full licence practical test and moving the Hazard Identification assessment into the Restricted practical test. Because our driving roadmap already builds high-level hazard management into every stage of learning, our core training structure remains exactly the same. The only adjustment is the introduction of "verbal commentary." Since testing officers will now require learners to speak their hazard identification out loud during the Restricted test, this specific verbal practice has been integrated into our in-car sessions to ensure total preparation for the new testing standard. You can read the full breakdown of the upcoming changes on the official NZTA website.

Absolutely. We highly encourage practice supervisors to ride along in the back seat. It is a fantastic way to align the professional instruction with the practice happening at home, ensuring everyone is on the same page.
